How to obtain a Golden Visa?
To obtain a Golden Visa in Spain the main way is making an investment of 500.000€ or more in real estate. This investment will grant a Family Residence permit. However, a 500,000€ investment in Real Estate is not the only way to obtain the Investor Residency visa. Any of the following investments are valid:
- Investing at least 2.000.000€ in Spanish Treasury bonds.
- Invest at least 1.000.000€ in shares of Spanish companies.
- Depositing at least €1.000.000 in Spanish bank accounts
- Investing at least 500.000€ in real estate in Spanish territory.
- Compared to the common way of obtaining the visa, this «golden visa» allows the investor to visit Spain a minimum of only once during the validity of the visa, whereas previously it was necessary to stay at least six months in Spanish territory.
That is to say, the renewal of the residency may be carried out even if there are absences of more than six months per year in the case of residency visas and authorizations for foreign investors or foreign workers of companies that carry out their activities abroad and have their base of operations in Spain.
Who can benefit from the Golden Visa?
The golden visa is targeted to those citizens from outside the European Union who intend to make an investment in Spain as a means to obtain residency.
